How to start life in fitness
Every single physiotherapist, osteopath, chiropractor, occupational therapist, massotherapist and kinesiologist has heard from patients (PLURAL) daily, “I don’t have the time”.
I find this incredibly disingenuous most of the time. I was a full time student, working 3 days/week with 1 dying grandparent and a parent in the hospital and a significant other.
When to get therapy?
Many patients have approached me and asked about how to start a life in fitness.
The answer at the beginning is simple, DO ANYTHING. Walk 30min everyday, join a zumba class, do 20 min of elliptical, go to a yoga class, go to crossfit, join a running group, it doesn’t matter.
This comes up often enough. When should I seek out therapy? I’ve had people wheeled in 2 hours after blowing up their knee and had people show up 8 years after an accident. Both expect improvement.
